At 12:30 pm, September 4, 2008, Hays County Sheriff's Office Transportation Deputy Fernando Amaya passed away at the intensive care unit of Brackenridge Hospital. Deputy Amaya received massive head injuries in an auto / bicycle collision on Monday, August 25, 2008.Funeral Arrangements for Deputy Fernando Amaya: Visitation will start at noon on Sunday, September 7, 2008 at Thomason Funeral Home - 2001 Ranch Road 12 - San Marcos. The rosary will start at 7pm on Sunday, September 7, 2008 at Thomason Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be on Monday, September 8, 2008 @ 10am at St. Anthony's Church in Kyle; the burial will follow after the funeral Mass to the Memorial Lawn Memorial Park off of Hwy 80 in Martindale.
