My post was deleted 2 days ago by the Moderator, so here's what I said, rewritten in extremely vague words: I had driven by River Road past a now defunct restaurant that had a new sign in front of it and was wondering what that was all about. I also said that I had gone to a newly opened "old" restaurant and had a comment on the food. In no way was I soliciting in a commercial way for these businesses, only wanting to add to the conversation of the day.

Moderator, what do you want us to talk about, daisies and roses all the time? Or better yet, politics?!! I'm no tourist, nor a visitor, having been here for 7 years; I have enjoyed these forums as a mode of information on ALL issues, including the comings and goings of restaurants in our area, and have learned quite a bit. I've read the forum rules and I think you are being quite literal with them and going too far with that delete button.

You will probably find this post distasteful and delete it as well.

Cripes. Can't believe you're still hammering on the moderator. Don't know why they put up with this. No good deed unpunished?

BTW, some of us are interested in more things than just where to go out to eat every day. (Nice life if that's yours I guess.) There are places out there on the web that are only about eating out. I never thought about this one as one of them.

Just my opinion.

For food services I use yelp and urban spoon, but if they are new and out of the way (Wimberley/Dripping Springs/Blanco) it may take a while for a decent sample to appear.

While I'm still curious about the shoelace & used bandaid location, I understand that it would be impractical for the administrator to include Fact Check on every posting. And, probably some liability issues as well.

Zac, I am not "still" hammering on the moderator, just get upset when my post is deleted for what I feel was completely unfounded terms.

Yes, my husband and I like to go out to eat on occasion, mainly lunches; what's wrong with that? And why would it bother you that I put up an occasional post on the comings and goings of restaurants in our area? It's an area of interest to a lot of people, and why not try to keep it local? I don't get involved in all the political sniping that goes on in these forums, but all of THAT is allowed to get through by the moderator.

Thanks for your thoughts.

2labdogs.......it happens on here ALL the time. While there IS a need for a moderator, it seems that only certain posts from certain people are deleted. It's ok to talk about the fact that the area is gonna just dry up and blow away for lack of rain, or someone's dog got loose or politics but heaven forbid anyone speak of a business even IF it goes without the name being mentioned UNLESS of course it's HEB or Brookshire Brothers. It's ridiculous really......the only time posts should be deleted is if people are fighting, cursing, or they are promoting their personal business. Freedom of speech doesn't exist here.......
My posts are deleted all the time and I do know that ALOT of posters just finally said forget it and left. It's really SAD that as a community of people we cant' actually discuss WIMBERLEY and what it has to offer not only for residents but tourists who can easily find this forum.

Hey, about instead of looking at the glass as half empty, look at it as half full. I'm grateful for this site and those who moderate on their own time and because they want to help. I like the discussions of rain, politics, and the goings on in my community. Thanks for all your hard work, Wimberley Community Form Moderators.

Miss Chris....no one has yet to say they are not grateful for the monitoring of this site.....however, many posts are deleted for no reason and the rules seem to only apply to either certain posters or...subjects.
It has nothing to do with a glass being full, empty, or otherwise. The topics of discussion should be more than just about the lack of rain, too much rain, too many people, the river flowing or not flowing and political views...which by the way can start arguments alot faster than where someone might find a good burger or kind, professional business owner to fix something.......That's all anyone is saying. There is no consistancy at all to what is and isn't ok here. Many people leave because of it......soon there won't be many members posting. Everyone should be able to come here with an opinion without being called names (like paranoid for example)....or having someone put them down, and those posts being allowed to stay posted.
I personally don't see anything wrong with posting about a local business. It brings the buisness owner customers, makes money for the city and brings shoppers to the area.
Before we moved to this area we found this site and there was a whole group of ladies who wanted to meet one another because they wanted to meet new people and make friends. They met once or twice a month at a local place in town and that place was named here on this site....I looked forward to moving here and possibly joining the group, being new and wanting to meet other ladies....well, they are all gone from this site now.......and that's a shame for new people who come here to live and want to become a part of this community as well as the one "out there" in Wimberley.
May you have a great day and a full glass....always.
