Male Miniature Schnauzer found this morning walking down the middle of the road on Pleasant Valley Rd. in WN. Leave your contact information and a description of the dog here and I will contact you. I can't hold on to him for very long as I have a rather agressive female dog.

Couple of years ago, I found a Minituare Schnauzer walking in Woodcreek North. He (it was also a male) was walking on Valley Spring Road. His owner lives on Valley Spring Road (I am not sure where since he just came to pick it up the next day). The owner said his dog would sometimes take off and walk and walk. The dog was very smart. Wonder if it's the same. Maybe you want to put some signs up. Good luck!

We were forced to call Animal Control and they took the little dog to the San Marcos Animal Shelter. We were worried that our dog would kill it. It is a sweet old dog with hip problems and had a choke chain around his neck. I believe he was also deaf. I hope someone will come forward, Call 512-393-8340.

Well hope the pet and owners get back together but I notice during any vacation period the lost dog signs start popping up from tourists or vacation home owners who I guess act more responsibly in the city but think this is one big park. The worst are the ones who seem to infer theft or think the country is just a good place to dump an animal they no longer want.

Thanks for the latest info. I just called Animal Control in San Marcos. They wait about a week before they put them for adoption. I just told them I wanted to make sure the dog doesn't get killed. I remember now it wasn't couple of years ago but more like 4 years ago that I rescued a similar dog here in Woodcreek North. Choke chain? hmmm Doesn't sound right. I'll check on the dog in a couple of days again.

My wife called and checked on him this morning as well. They said they bathed and fed him and said he is resting peaceful. When he was here we fed and watered him. He was cold so gave him a soft warm dry bed to sleep on. He was very tired and had apparently been out and about for quite a while and showed no sign of being cared for. He was only with us for a short time but he stole our hearts. I hope someone will come forward to give this sweet little dog the love and care he deserves. I wish we could have kept him.

I hope things work out for the dog. Just for future reference, Wimberley now has a rescue group, WAG. I believe there is a link on visitwimberley.

Great point, 12! WAG Rescue information can be found here: http://visitwimberley.com/articles/wagRescue.shtmlARF (512-847-2878) also is a great resource for reporting lost and found animals: http://visitwimberley.com/arf/ I hope this little doggie can live out his days in a loving home. We have put him in the headline box on the front page of VisitWim in the hope that it will help. The kind members of this forum demonstrate a level of concern that would make any community proud. I know it does me... Marilyn [This message has been edited by M Griffin (edited March 20, 2010).]
