Despite rumblings from storms passing around and through Wimberley, the 2006 Rodeo had perfect weather every night with near record crowds. Enjoy the Rodeo experience through photos of event moments and the crowd, and plan to attend next year.

A Hill Country tradition, the Annual Pro-Open Wimberley VFW Rodeo is traditionally held on the first weekend in July at the VFW's rodeo grounds just north of town on Ranch Road 12.

Once the largest outdoor rodeo in the world, the event still ranks near the top. Check out the menu below to see this year's full menu of events includes bareback bronc riding, calf roping, team roping, wild bull riding, cowgirls barrel racing, a calf scramble for youngsters, and a fireworks show.
