The fifth annual Wimberley Spring Walk sponsored by the City of Wimberley and the New Braunfels Wanderers Group is Saturday and Sunday, April 26 and 27. The five and 10 mile walk is a non-competitive event with a well-marked trail that starts at the Community Center, goes through the Cypress Creek Nature Trail, Blue Hole Regional Park and the City/County hike and bike trail. Walkers check in between 7 a.m. and noon and must complete the walk by 3 p.m. each day.
Wimberley has in the past provided volunteers to staff two check points along the trail. The duties involve talking to the walkers, stamping their walk cards and giving directions. The check points are best staffed by two people—to provide company and assistance—for each of two shifts both days—7 to 11 a.m. and 11 to 2 p.m. That said, we need eight volunteers to staff the tables. If you’re interested in participating in this fun event, please let me know by return email.
