Wimberley Concert Association Presents Farewell Concert of Young Local Pianist, Dylan Meek
Pianist Dylan Meek will perform a Farewell Concert for his hometown on Thursday, November 20, 2008 at Chapel in the Hills, Wimberley. The special concert, presented by the Wimberley Concert Association, begins at 7:00 pm. Early arrival is suggested for preferred seating.
Seventeen year old Dylan Meek graduates from high school in December, after which he heads to Boston and then New York City to pursue college and his musical career.  Prior to departure, Meek plans to play his heart out one more time for the hometown that has shown fervent enthusiasm for his passionate performances and musicianship.

Since his original packed house debut at the Wimberley Concert Association's season opener in 2005 when master pianist Jimmy Neeley presented his young protégé, Meek has flourished as a musician. Meek has gone on to earn the confidence of veteran musicians who perform regularly with Dylan Meek combos and also include him in their own performance line-ups. His resume includes bookings at The Elephant Room in Austin, a club that Wynton Marsalis lists as one of the ten best jazz venues in America.

As for his musical horizons, Meek says, "I will seek out the best, learn from the best, and play with the best." The young Meek is thankful to the community that gave him his start and plans to convey this appreciation in his parting concert. Expect special guests during the upcoming concert.

Adults - $10 donation at the door. Students admitted at no charge. For more information, call 847-9762.  Chapel in the Hills, 14601 Ranch Rd. 12, Wimberley, TX  78676.
