The 24th Annual Wimberley Community Civic Club Home Tour - Featuring the Haralson, Elliott and Davis, Holland, Fulkerson, Aldred and Criswell Homes

Sponsored by the Wimberley Community Civic Club, the 2011 Hill Country Homes Tour for the Holidays is Friday & Saturday, November 11h and 12th from 10 AM to 5 PM. Five unique homes are featured for 2011, and a sixth where a pre-tour cocktail party will be held.

The Wimberley Community Civic Club chose five beautiful homes for the 2011 Hill Country Home Tour, November 11-12, showcasing the broad variety of homes in the Wimberley community.

Be sure to mark your calendars for this event and help the Civic Club raise money to give to the Wimberley community. Remember that while enjoying the tour you will be helping our community. The Home Tour in the fall and Spring Event (formerly Hobby Lobby) in the spring are the two fund-raising events the Civic Club sponsors to raise money for agencies and organizations in the community each year. Typically, the Civic Club gives monetary gifts to 25 community entities and scholarships to 10 graduating high school seniors.

A seventh stop on the tour is the historic Winters-Wimberley House where you will find a wide assortment of handcrafted items, theme baskets, and a delectable selection of baked goods, candies, pickles and preserves in the home's original parlor from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. Lunch is served in  the Tea Room, $10 per person, from, 11 AM to 2 PM.

Tickets will be available at the Visitors' Center and each home, as well as the Gift and Bake shop at the Winters-Wimberley House. For more information visit the Civic Club page.

The Donna Aldred Home

Rancho Mirando is stunning example of Spanish mission-style architecture and design. From the 3,000 lavender plants and grove of olive trees, to the artful interiors and breathtaking view from the flagstone terrace, exquisite touches are everywhere. Like Alice in Wonderland you might feel you’ve fallen through the looking glass as you pass through the gates that welcome you to the ranch.

The Deborah Elliott and Pat Davis Home

Deborah Elliott and Pat Davis are passionate stewards of their land. They cared so deeply about this Hill Country escape purchased in 1998 they immediately began taking courses, each becoming not only a Master Gardener, but also a Master Naturalist. They smile when they tell you that their native grasslands are back to the way they were 150 years ago.

She felt so strongly about the property that she phoned her husband Tom and let him know that even though she hadn’t seen the home’s interior, she was making an offer. Once you walk through the front door and see the sweeping view of green before you, it isn’t hard to understand why.
