Jill Jones provides the powerful lead vocals and award-winning yodeling as she lays down an energetic rhythm on guitar (and occasional harmonica). She was the founder and lead singer of the Hays County Gals, winners of the Academy of Western Artists Award for Cowboy Group of the Year for 1996 and 1997. Jill won the 1994 Western Music Association Grand National Yodeling Championship and the 1998 Academy of Western Artists Yodeling Award. She's been
featured on "Texas Country Reporter" and appeared with Willie Nelson on TNN's "Legends of Country
Music." Nominated for 1998 Female Artists, Jill has been called "the voice of the
prairie." Her professional career as a musician has taken her from California to Florida over the past 20 years.
Doug Floyd brings 30 years of experience to the Chorale with one for the most gentle, yet powerful voices to be found anywhere. Singing lead as well as harmony, he's also a top hand with the mandolin, guitar and banjo. His three-octave range and instrumental expertise has been showcased with the Flying W Wranglers,
Jerry Jeff
Walker, B.W. Stevenson, Rusty Wier,
Guy
Clark, Vassar
Clements, Shake
Russell, and B.J. Thomas, to name a few. He's opened shows for Michael Martin Murphy and Riders in the Sky, where he was promptly dubbed "Deputy
Doug." Prior to joining the chorale, Doug was the leader of his own successful group in the Austin area.
Lynn Daniel has been one of the most sought after bass players in the Austin, Fort Worth area for quite some time. His solid, soulful rhythm provides the drive for the group and he adds the third part to their wonderful western harmony. Lynn has played live
and in studio for more musicians than can be mentioned here
including Willie
Nelson, Hank Thompson, Tracy Byrd, Hal Ketchum, Johnny Gimble, Don Walser, Leon Rausch, and Jimmy Dale Gilmore.
As the newest member, he brings his many years of diversified experience
to the Lone Star Chorale.
