Hilary Page will be guest artist for the November meeting of the Wimberley Valley Art League. Originally from England, Ms Page came to the U.S. in 1966 after graduating from drama school in London. Her portfolio of costume and stage designs won her a job at a commercial art studio in Indianapolis where she also attended evening classes and the John Herron School of Art. Later she taught elementary school in NYC. After a hiatus for marriage and children, she returned to her artwork.
Residing in Houston she became known for her acrylic murals in homes and businesses and was featured on several TV shows. She began watercolor painting and for a time served as Administrative Director for the Watercolor Art Society, Houston. She began teaching watercolor in the early 1980's and now divides her time between painting, writing, and teaching workshops. Her amazing range of watercolor paintings can be seen at her Internet Galleries: Gallery Portrait and Figure, Gallery, and Gallery 2000. She is the author of three books: Hilary Page's Guide to Watercolor Paints, Color Right from the Start, and Watercolor Right from the Start.
Her demonstration will be on portrait painting in watercolor.
