Visitors to Wimberley are invited to bring a chair, grab a hat and sunglasses and plan to get comfortable watching a unique assembly alongside residents who enjoy this as another of Wimberley's annual events.

The main parade starts at 10 AM, with a Jubilee following. However, the dates for each of these events may change each year, so be sure to check the calendar first.

The slideshows below offer a glimpse at midsummer in Wimberley, Texas since 2002. From drought conditions to flooding, rain or shine, the annual 4th of July celebration carries on...even when it must be postponed a few weeks. The 4th of July parade and "Jubilee" are a reference to old-time small town celebrations and are always fun to attend.

No matter where one looked, someone was smiling and those smiles were contageous.

2012 4th of July Parade. Click here for the slideshow... The 2012 parade day was held on a pretty-hot day during another record-hot summer. The turnout was fine, despite the melting heat, and spirits remained high.The politicians seemed to enjoy waking and waving in the heat.

2010 5th of July Parade. Click here for the slideshow... The 2010 parade day was held on the 5th of July this year. Temperatures were high, but typical, and once again the variety of entries was enjoyed by an appreciative crowd.

2009 4th of July Parade. Click here for the slideshow... One of the hottest summers on record didn't keep Wimberley and friends for showing up at this annual event. The parade direction was reversed, moving south on RR12. Despite this change, which meant parade participants faced the hot Texas sun for much of the route, spirits remained high.

2008 4th of July Parade. Click here for the slideshow... After the last year's ultra-wet parade, this year brought Wimberley a picture-perfect day for the annual 4th of July parade. The colorful, photogenic crowd brought plenty of spirit to the occasion, including pets decked out for the occasion.

2007 4th of July Parade. Click here for the slideshow... After the most rainfall for this time of year on record in Wimberley, there were those who wondered if a parade could happen at all. But the theme for the parade in 2007 was "Spirit of Wimberley," and that was displayed in abundance with enthusiastic attendance, complete with umbrellas, and entertaining participants.

The new Cypress Creek bridge and road improvements made this year's viewing much more comfortable than the construction environment permitted last year, although loyal Wimberley parade goers never let a little thing like road dust interfere with this event. Ideal weather and a four-day holiday.

Entries for Wimberley's traditional 4th of July parade this year ranged from a vehicle driving by with balloons attached to full-blown decorated works of art. Renaissance ladies from the EmilyAnn Theatre troupe and a memorable tribute "float" for a Birthday Girl were there with bells on.

2003 4th of July Jubilee. Click here for the slideshow.. After the morning parade, crowds turned out in a dreamy drizzle of misty rain to enjoy a rare cool afternoon in midsummer. Music from the Wimberley Community Chorus and the Hill Country Community Band provided the sound track for this Hill Country village event.

Wimberley's traditional 4th of July parade this year was postponed until Labor Day weekend, due to safety concerns caused by the summer flooding. Here's a look at some of the fun!
