The 4th of July is a great time to be in Wimberley, Texas!

For 2018, the Wimberley VFW Pro Rodeo is featured for three nights, there's swimming at Blue Hole Regional Park and at Jacob's Well Natural Area (reservations required) and a feature movie at the Corral Theatre.

The annual VFW Rodeo on Thursday, July 5th through Saturday, July 7th...the fun is nonstop through the weekend. On Wednesday, July 4th, the Wimberley annual Jubilee Parade starts at 10AM. Get there early with your lawn chairs and shade, Ozona Bank Parking area is agreat spot to camp out.

4th of July weekend has always been packed with fun and things to do in Wimberley. This year offers visitors (and residents) a choice of activities guaranteed to bring smiles and memories for a lifetime.

Worried about the heat? There's a happy answer for that. For fun in the water, visit the Blue Hole, open to the public on a 4th of July extended weekend. (Be sure to confirm that the area is open for swimming before planning this activity.) Swimming at Jacobs Well is always an experience to behold (limited reservations). Fishing and kayaking is but 13 miles from the square at RandR Campgrounds, tubing the Gadalupe is always on folk's summer bucket list.

How about a tour of the only commercially producing olive grove and olive mill in the Hill Country, complete with winery, tasting room and gift shop where you can get hand-crafted gourmet foods, wines, oil, and jams to take home or send to friends? Click here for more about Bella Vista Ranch.

See a movie at the one and only Corral Theatre. Watching the stars under the stars is a memorable experience for the whole family. Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings are show nights. Read more about the Corral here.

Then there's the Hill Country tradition, the Annual Pro-Open Wimberley VFW Rodeo, held this year on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings. It's always at the VFW Rodeo Grounds on Jacob's Well Road. Visit the Visitwimberley Rodeo Pages to enjoy years of photos and get program details.

Jubilee Day on Wednesday July 4th with the parade starting at 10 a.m. This annual Wimberley parade includes trailers, cars, bands, animals, or walking entries to roll down RR 12 in the morning sunlight. A bit later in the day Hometown Patriotic Concerts can be enjoyed at two different times this year, once at 1PM and again at 4PM. These two presentations take place at the First Baptist Church of Wimberley, Tuesday July 4th.

To cap off the extended weekend there are three free fireworks displays Tuesday, in the area. Kyle is featuring a concert performed by The Starlight Symphony Orchestra followed by a fireworks display.
