Post Activities
Through community activities, VFW Posts bring to life their slogan, "Honor the Dead by Helping the Living." At the Oldham-Cummings Post, funds are raised for community support primarily through annual sponsorship of a major pro-open rodeo at its professional rodeo arena and conducting bingo games in its meeting hall every Friday evening, beginning at 7 p.m. (Click here for more about Bingo!) The Post also sponsors a thriving Boy Scout troop, with a meeting facility on the grounds. Contributions are made to a variety of area organizations and causes such as EMS, Salvation Army, Crisis Bread Basket, and Habitat for Humanity.

VFW Rodeo
By far, the Post's largest activity is the annual Pro-open rodeo held at the Post's rodeo grounds and arena. A Hill Country tradition, once the largest outdoor rodeo in the world, the event still ranks near the top.  Return to top of pageClick here for more about this year's Rodeo!
